Comment #10 on issue 1498 by [email protected]: OpenMeeting Plan A Meeting - receiving multiple email alerts..
http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/issues/detail?id=1498

*Something else I just noticed. Through the process above, if I set the reminder to "none" the e-mail link for external e-mail addresses/users are not sent out*

=> well obviously if you want that people receive an email then you would choose a reminder type. Maybe we should change the label. But it is important to have an option to NOT SEND EMAIL AT ALL. This is quite common in all applications:
You can choose wether you like to send an invitation or not.
Compare to GoogleCalender for example: If you add a new entry and add external invitees you will be asked at the end of the creation "would you like the invitations to be send now" if you choose "no" then actually NOBODY of the participants will get a notification of that calendar event.
So the option "NONE" really means "Do not send notification at all".
I might change that label name but we will still behave the same: If you want notifications to be send then choose a reminder type please.
