Only as example, I recently started to use openocd and I has sent some patches the last month. I use git as standalone on personal projects, but I never has used gerrit before. I has read http://openocd.sourceforge.net/doc/doxygen/html/patchguide.html, however, I has had several problems with the patches. About that, thanks to Spen and CeDEROM that help me answering doubts... about gerrit!!!
I think that a few lines can be added to the patchguide, or maybe a FAQ, to say how to do certain things, avoiding the needed to learn gerrit (I think that the used tools must not be a problem).
