I am not so sure. I am quite sure it will be within this year but
probably it will
not meet the 30-June-2017 tentative date. Supposedly cross-platform event
handling and Windows hotplug support is the next big thing for the
next release.
Windows hotplug support is quite complicate change as per Chris.
