I am a developer, and I have contritubted fair amount of original code
to OpenOCD.
I did write the CortexM3 stuff, and the SAM7S flash drivers, and was
among the first developers not connected to Dominics original thesis
work to join the project.

Zach does not speak for me. As far as I can see he and David are
actively against any exception, I am not!!!

Trying to find a solution that is formally acceptable to GPL, but seen
as a way to work around the license problem, is perfectly OK.
If it is legal then it is legal, even if it is against "the spirit of
GPL" according to the hardliners. Hardline legalisms work both ways.

If it is in the spirit of OpenOCD as I knew it then so much better.

Regards
Magnus
