I just got an email from FTDI with a new D2XX.1.7.dmg (ie. upgraded from 1.6) which I'm expecting to work. (I'd filed a bug report)
OS X went from primarily 32 bit (with some 64 bit support) to primarily 64 (with 32 bit support), going from 10.5 (Leopard) to 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Some things which are supposed to "just work" don't any more — until someone recompiles them :-) I'm assuming the D2XX.1.7.dmg is also available on their website.
