I spoke against making OpenPBX dependant on SpanDSP a long time ago
but (almost) everyone thought that I was crazy. Since then, OpenPBX
ended up losing it's flexibility regarding DSP development, became
more difficult to compile and became much more difficult to adopt by
newbies. It also lost a dedicated developer (me) who first contributed
the new generator/zaptel independence code.
