Firstly, most "newbies" will not use cvs code (At least they shouldn't), and 
the majority of them will not compile anything by hand either. The simple 
solution is at the next release of OpenPBX, there should also be a stable 
release of SpanDSP and both should be neatly packaged into rpms and debs for 
general consumption. Problem solved.
I personally will be spending as long as it takes at the Free 
Software/Open Source Telephony-Summit 2006 
(http://www.linuxtag.org/2006/en/besucher/konferenzen/3rd-telephony-summit.html)
 
to make sure this happens for SLES 9, SLES 10 and SUSE 10.0
