You're right.  It is.  However, for the vast majority of direct 
terminations in to Africa, Eastern Europe and Japan, it's still the 
codec of choice for all those folks still milking their AS5300s and 
Clarent boxes ;)

Anyway, the patent will expire here pretty quick.  I don't see any 
reason to worry about that codec for CallWeaver.
