I feel Asterisk is more stable, at least it isn't beta. At least
version 1.2.x.....

If you have E1's it seems that iaxmodem works well. I have tested it
without problems, basically its a virtual serial port that interfaces
with Asterisk or OpenPBX and you use Hylafax just as you do now.
