It seems mod_perl 2 will achieve the PERL_OBJECT support required for
proper ActivePerl support. Until then it would require a seperate Perl
build too (possible, but taxing and icky - 2 perls on one machine is
asking for fun and frolics). However, once mod_perl 2 arrives it should
be quite easy.
However, if people want mod_perl now and are willing to help I'm still
interested in seeing what can be done.
