Yes that's the way how it works, perhaps I don't get the problem.
This problem is already fixed in the upcoming OpenSG
2.0 release :-) We
will realease quite soon OpenSG 1.6 with new
features and bugfixes.
First 2.0 betas are expected to Siggraph in August.

Well I think so, but Gerrit made all the FieldContainer changes for the
2.0 perhaps he can comment on this.

Yes most of it. We are going to focus our work now on the 2.0.
