Hi, there was also the OpenManip project. If remember correctly there were some bugs on it. So it wasn't published. Apart from that it was also only for QT, so an GUI abstraction would also be necessary. But I personally think it would be a good idea sharing manipulators or add some of the to the OpenSG distribution (like in OpenInventor).
