That could be a possible solution.
But as a prerequisite I think it should at least compile under Linux.

Hi Michael,
just one question: if OpenManip would be a part of the OpenSG distribution -
I think that would be a kind if centralized development!

Patrik

Hi there!
Yep, its true. There are Manipulators implemented in the OpenManip library.
At the moment I am "maintaining" the code.
Yet, I still didn't have the time to get them compile again, as some files
seem to have been lost while moving to my new job last year.
Furthermore the projection of mouse movement into the 3D- world sometimes
behaves strange.
I recently worked with qmake and I am thinking about recompiling the
OpenManip libraries with qmake.
That's the status so far.
Still considering giving out the source, but I fear that development will
then split and go into different directions a more centralized development
with one variant would be better in my opinion.
Best regards
Michael

Hi,
thats true. I can ask him for the sources and perhaps we can use it as a
base for manipulators. Other people have interests/ideas/links?

osg::hallo,
I would also be interested in having manipulators. If I remember right,
someone in Stuttgart was taking over the project and was looking for
students. But this info is more than 6 months old :(

Hi,
there was also the OpenManip project. If remember correctly there were
some bugs on it. So it wasn't published. Apart from that it was also
only for QT, so an GUI abstraction would also be necessary.
But I personally think it would be a good idea sharing manipulators or
add some of the to the OpenSG distribution (like in OpenInventor).

I recently ran head on into the lack of publically available
manipulators for OpenSG. I was wondering, what does everyone here use
for object manipulators in their desktop applications? Does everyone
just roll their own or are there some common sources available that
people are using? It just really seems a shame to reinvent something
that someone else has already written (many times) before. :)
Thanks,
Allen
