My main problem is finding a good enough reason for multi-indexing text
geometry to warrant the complications of it. Text is effectively write
only anyway, getting anything out of the text geometry is not effective,
so manipulations of text don't seem to matter much. Given that text is
so small anyway, the memory savings don't seem to be worth the effort
either.
I appreciate that you went through the pain of writing the multi-index
code, but I don't think text really needs it. So given that Allen has
already done the changes, I'm inclined to accept them as they are (in
fact, the rebuild is running right now).
