i do agree with you :) seriously, for avango we took the pain and setup an
example repository of its own. the good thing is that you can structure
differently than the core source tree. otoh, it's always behind of what's
in the core source tree up to the point that things are not there that should
be. so i also agree with dirk that some "install magic" could gather the
examples into a final location of its own.
