Antonio, I echo your questions and some of your concerns.
We are currently using OpenSG 2.0 is 3 production projects and although it is working well, it could work much better. IMHO, we will see OpenSG 2.0 really come into it's own as soon as the OpenSG 1.x branch of development is closed and all developers move over to 2.0.
