I alreadey feared that I will have to do so... I will start a 
compilation session and see if I get it working.

Perhaps I am going to try this approach if I don't get the freeglut 
stuff to work. As I only need some (fullscreen) window to render into, I 
would prefer GLUT as it is quite lightweight. Thanks for your help.
