hm, I looked at both scenes side-by-side again and I can not see any 
difference in appearance. AFAICS they look fine except for some depth 
fighting (may be because of the near/far values the SimpleSceneManager 
chooses) and some triangles that seem to have the wrong winding.

uhm, however, this is rather suspicious:

36535932 2009-06-16 15:07 lime_disabledopt_scene.osb
36535932 2009-06-16 15:13 lime_scene.osb

both files have the exact same size...
