the TriangleIterator should work with multi index geometry. After all
the difference is that e.g. position and texture coordinates may have
different indices, so you need to ask the TriIter for the right index
(getPositionIndex() vs. getTexCoordIndex()). For single indexed the
values you get from these functions are the same, for multi indexed you
can get different values.
