Hi there,
I have been trying to find a way to drape digital aerial photographs on
terrain in OpenSim and wondered if there is already a simple solution or
if support for this is planned in the near future.
In my search the nearest anyone has got to this is creating a megaprim
textured with a photograph, stretching across an entire tile. Also,
looking at Second Life there is support for repetitive texturing of
terrain, so you can drape a photo over a portion of a tile; this pattern
is replicated many times to cover the entire tile. The photo you can
load in for this has a size limit (I think 500x 500) – if this limit was
lifted then conceivably one photo could stretch over the entire tile? Or
are there any other solutions out there?
