Adam's original code was a version of the file Stitcher.cs, which created a bunch of sculpties and image files. It was full of hard-coded constants. The code that I made available made those constants variables, so that it's possible to handle terrains of various sizes. Plus, I added additional steps to import the textures directly to the asset server and to generate the prims that then can be loaded like this on the server console:
# load xml2 prims.xml

The files are still independent, so it's easy to isolate the texture generation from the delivery mechanism(s).

Hi everyone,

We are making Diorama System, too.

http://www.nsl.tuis.ac.jp/xoops/modules/xpwiki/?OpenSim%2FDiorama (Sorry Japanese onley)

Our documents of system are not good either, too. :)

Because Adam's script is seemed very well, we want to study Adam's system.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I have been trying to find a way to drape digital aerial photographs on terrain in OpenSim and wondered if there is already a simple solution or if support for this is planned in the near future.

In my search the nearest anyone has got to this is creating a megaprim textured with a photograph, stretching across an entire tile. Also, looking at Second Life there is support for repetitive texturing of terrain, so you can drape a photo over a portion of a tile; this pattern is replicated many times to cover the entire tile. The photo you can load in for this has a size limit (I think 500x 500) – if this limit was lifted then conceivably one photo could stretch over the entire tile? Or are there any other solutions out there?

Thanks for any advice you can give,

Regards,

Tony
