yes, you need to recompile OpenSim.
Bottom line: for binary distributions of 0.7.0.x ppl need to use an
older version of the MySql server. The alternative option is to get the
sources of 0.7.0.x, and recompile them with the newer MySql.Data.dll in
place -- then you can use the latest MySql server. This is because
0.7.0.x ships with the older MySql.Data.dll connector, which only works
with older servers.
