Let's keep the discussion friendly and respectful of differing opinions so we can all learn more about Bitcoin and alternatives without resorting to personal attacks. Also keep in mind some folks don't speak English as a first language which can complicate but also enrich the conversation. . . .
For my part, I'm also quite skeptical of Bitcoin (and most online monetary systems for that matter) but I'm interested in hearing what others think. It's a good point that some of our experiences with Linden Lab and other "banks" involved with Second Life have taught us valuable lessons. Anyone remember GOM and Ginko? Having said that, I find Bitcoin's distributed and decentralized philosophy both interesting and worrisome. Lack of centralization sounds like a good thing, but lack of accountability not so much. - Chris/Fleep Chris M.
