I am very sorry that you are disappointed with the profile page changes, but please know that we're doing this for the security for the orkut users. We're working towards introducing data pipelining and OpenSocial templates to make it easier (and safer) for you to render your profile views. These would be available on the sandbox along with a tutorial, as early as next week.
