Thank you, John.

If the intent was to educate, or prod me into doing so, why did
you ask a number of questions for which you now claim claim
to know the answer? Talk about "a drive by ARC shooting".
We all can educate, hopefully with constructive and unambiguous
prose.

The case I referenced was one of the cases which was initially
selected for open exposure. It was explicitly made available
early while we spent time "cleaning up" the relevant history
generated while we were "closed". There were about a dozen
such cases initially selected.

If this requirement isn't well advertised on the OpenSolaris
website, it should be. I'm not sure of the responsibility here.
I'll also make the pretty good guess that the relative c-teams
(ON/SFW) know about this requirement.

Of course, my tone was invoked by:

You know this not to be true and is disinformation to any
unfamiliar readers. I wonder who many of those you claim
to be help educate were left wondering if this was a
rhetorical question or not. If they were wondering, perhaps
they were also worried about how much work they were
about to be asked for.

More importantly, it reads more than a little pejorative
to those who have worked very hard to require as
little as possible (in this area) while still advertising the
OpenSolaris specific information (the ATTRIBUTES) and
the UNIX (not necessarily Linux) expectation that the man
command is the first avenue to search for documentation.

Next time, can I suggest a response more on the order of:

"Joe, for the unfamiliar, could you elaborate on what
you mean by 'vestigial man pages'".
