The purpose of the ARC is to prevent unrelated projects from harming one another and OpenSolaris/Solaris. Giving any one person veto power is very wrong; it does allow for exactly that thing you oppose. The ARC only approves projects and gives gentle nudges to the rudder. It rarely, if ever, denies projects. So in effect, the authority to veto the ARC would be the authority to veto projects. Casper
