I never asked the team to make any changes. I asked a question. I'm expecting an answer that looks something like one of these: - "Yes, that's a trivial change. We'll do it and feed it upstream." - "Yes, it sounds like that could be done. We'll discuss it with the upstream maintainers, but it's not part of this project." - "No, it can't or shouldn't be done, because <insert reason here>." Stating that "star" will one day support these features is just beside the point. It doesn't help determine how or whether this "7z" project will fit in OpenSolaris.
