Whoa whoa whoa .... consider the context of this particular case first.

We're talking about lack of Red Book pregap in cdrecord being one of  
the reasons to introduce cdrdao. If this is the only compelling reason  
- of all possible reasons one could come up with - to include  
cdrdao... then it seems to me that sweat and toil would be better  
applied towards extending cdrecord to make up this rather negligible  
difference.

The easy acceptance of allowing multiple tools to accomplish the same  
task on something like ARC surprises me. I would have expected a more  
discriminating crowd.
