The days of providing one and only one way in Solaris/OpenSolaris to do a job and hopefully providing the best one are gone. Get over it, move on join the new disk space is cheap and give people choice party. The new world order is cram as much variants of everything we can in if any other unix like OS is including them (or not but we think they are useful).
Since we already have cdrw and cdrecord why not ad cdrdao. Personally I still use cdrw because it does everything *I* need to do but I see the value in having cdrecord and since it is now clear to me that cdrdao provides functionality that cdrecord does not I see value in shipping that too. I'd never heard of pregap audio before so I looked at the wikipedia page Torrey sent incase I was going to get any "free" songs from my existing collection. Sadly I don't have any of the listed CDs - now I wonder what that says about my music tastes :-) -- Darren J Moffat
