I was not thinking about a detailed log or some "grafitti" - I was
thinking about a short documentation about the major "turning points"
and design decisions in the code (which should IMO part of any good code
to have all these bits documented in the source). 
And somewhere on my wishlist are the emails of the authors to have a
contact person who could be asked about some design decisions (the SCM
history lacks all these details and even the bug numbers are more or
less useless right now since most of the bug database comments are not
readable for OpenSolaris users).
