Ahhhh - ok. Thanx for explaination. IIRC the Intel SpeedStep thing is
disabled in the BIOS (its a i2500PAL board). Or perhaps there is another
related option, which sounds not as intuitive as it should ;-)

Yes - or adding a hint in a wiki/glossary for snv/opensolaris (is there
one?) might help to get a googable answer quickly as well  ...
