They are, but Sun can't just make things available as OpenSolaris, especially 
in the case where the code is not theirs.

Ultra1, no, Sun had to make some decisions on what hardware they would support 
and it was determined that the Ultra1/2 were too old to continue support for.

The Ultra5 will run it fine though.

I would never argue against a faster system.

Why not install S10 GA on there, which most likely ships on it, and then do a 
-I (Cap-Eye) install to put an additional kernel on there.

The other better solution would be to use Live Upgrade to have the S10 GA and 
OpenSolaris environments with the ability to activate either one.
