What's wrong with the tools community?
It sounds to me like it belongs there.

Dynamic linking is a core foundation on which our products are built.

Under Solaris, the link-editors, and their related tools are maintained in a
separate consolidation (OS/Net) from the compilation tools. The runtime linker
is felt to be more aligned with the core OS - ld(1) obviously creates the
objects ld.so.1(1) will execute. The other tools analyze or help configure
this dynamic linking environment.

The family of link-editing tools is closely tied together and is maintained by
different engineers than those leading the tools community.

An internal linker-interest alias exists at Sun, and is used to convey questions
and answers regarding the link-editors, but more often to cover generic dynamic
linking issues. Should this community be accepted I hope to redirect this alias
to the community (as the Dtrace folks did), so that more folks can participate.
