Joerg, we are sad to see you react in this way to this discussion -
after all that is what it is.
We actually think Sven is making some very important points about how
developers feel about their contributions being used for different
purposes. He is grounding his discussion in his personal experience
and he has tied this directly to the topic. He was ask by Simon to
offer his perspective on a Debian-Solaris menagerie. We think he is
doing a good job.
The whole open source development environment works because of the
efforts of thousands of people like Sven. Admittedly, Solaris did
not grow up like Linux, but Linux got to where it is and it is still
FREE (as in beer and speech) for at lot less than it cost Sun to get
Solaris where it is today. We have something to learn about that.
We hope the usefulness of Sven's discussion was not lost in the melee.
These lists have a way of touching on sensitive areas that if we
can't do here we certainly won't be able to do so in a broader world.
Sincerely,
Raquel and Bill

Unless the cow is sick and produce unusable sour milk or

The more I read from you on this topic, the more I get the
impression that
you don't really understand what you are talking about - sorry.
Don't get personal and calm down please. You are clearly taking this
discussion on a personal basis, and put all the blame on the other
party, and
don't even imagine that for some strange reason the author could
be making a
mistake when searching justice or whatever.
I was _not_ personal and I don't need to calm down.
If you however don't write us new arguments but just repeat things
we did
discuss before, what would be the sense of such a discussion?
What you do is to constantly attack this list with a single
statement from
a single person from "Debian legal". You fail to prove that this
should be
taken as an official statement from Debian but you continue to act
as if
this (anti OSS) statement was an official statement from the Debian
project.
So please either prove that this _is_ an official statement from
Debian
or stop your mails on this topic.
Jörg
