Hi All,

Anyone know if its possible to install solaris express (b20) using an exteral
usb cdrom ? i have tried and it boots until the point of configuring the
network setting, dns etc then fails as cant find /cdrom or something (cant
remember the exact error as i dont have the laptop live just now).. i read on
the link below that its possible using grub from 06/05 but i cant seem to make
it work, possibly it requires a bit more magic than i use on it ...

http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2723/6n50a1mqq?a=view#gafiv

It reads :--

x86: Support for USB CDs and DVDs in GRUB-Based Booting

Solaris Express – Starting in the Solaris Express 6/05 release, you can use the
following USB features in the GRUB-based booting environment:

    *

Installing from USB CD or DVD drives
    *

      Booting from USB storage devices

Cheers
Cass
