Can I get a copy of the source to your Fibonacci program ? I'd like to see what I see on a UltraSparc III machine with the Sun Studio 11 versus GCC 4 while I use the Sun Performance libs if possible. Also, I agree that pushing little numbers around with Fibonacci is trivial. Perhaps something more stringent is required. But then again, I am guilty of playing with silly infinite series to calculate pi for the same purpose. As a sidenote, total non-sequiter and blatantly unrelated, after ten years of dreaming about it .. finally .. after long long last .. I received a copy of Wolfram's Mathematica for Christmas. It was unopened and on eBay and I would guess that it will kick out any Fibonacci number way way faster than anything we can scheme up. :-) Dennis
