It came accross, to me at least, that your implication was that it
would not happen if you had any say in it.

I was going to make a bad analogy so I'll stop. I'm just saying that
one by one all the fingerpringint possibilities need to be elimited.
This is just one of them. OS fingerprinting is a known atttack
facilitator. The implementer of the system should at least have that
option. 
In reply to Casper as well, I don't work for Sun, and Sun's profits
are little concern of mine. If Sun support find their job difficult,
well, life is hard.

I can also appreciate that.


I overall understand where you are coming from. All I am saying is
that your tone would be better received were it a tad bit more
conciliatory.

I also understand that the needs of Sun Microsystems and the needs of
its clients may not align with that of the kind of people who would
volunteer to work on opensolaris, and that an extra effort on the
part of both sides needs to occur for things to run smoothly.
