After two days of getting to work with a copy of
Belenix 0.4.1, I noticed a slight backdraft of a few
apps which may have missed the update cycle or
wouldn't load. Still a great desktop and server
distro, I'll just list the obvious ones I noticed
today.

Don't get all twisted inside... just a few bugs....
move along...

1. Thunderbird wouldn't load.
It did start for me last time I tried though I have not checked this
  recently.
2. Firefox 1.5 beta2 (Y2005) ???
3. Realplayer 10.5 ???

Things to review
1. Evince
Evince is included but strangely it fails to recognize PDF files. Probably
  a mime type issue.
2. Ekiga
3. Mplayer / Kaffeine
4. MythTV / Freevo
5. Nevada build 37+ - ;o)
6. Scribus
7. Blender
8. DVD Authoring tools
In addition I will be pulling in the libusb stuff from the recent SFW
source drop. This will allow things like Gtkam and Xsane.
The odd thing about this is that I use KMail and
Konqueror as a backup. What I hope will become an
addition on Belenix is the SeaMonkey Internet suite
which nicely compliments KOffice 1.5 office suite on
Belenix. Then, update Firefox and ThunderBird from the
latest CVS or stable code. All done.
I was stuck with this for a week otherwise I'd have released 0.4.1
earlier. Firefox 1.5.0.1 built from the latest stable release and even
the CVS tree dumps core during startup when it is registering the
extensions. I have to debug this.

Regards,
Moinak.
The main thing is the browser and email updates are
important for Internet work. The other apps are the up
and coming apps.
Otherwise, Belenix 0.4.1 is definitely one of the best
desktop releases for OpenSolaris users today.
Something to show off at Interop in Las Vegas!!
