Sign me up for the latter because I think it may take some real ground swell grass roots demonstration to get this to happen. Maybe we all get tie-dyed T-shirts, big hair, beads and sandals and march on the Adobe offices and hold a "sit in" protesting their methods. It may take that .. or a unified blog and web site launch on every community site we can muster.
<guitar strum> Two, one, two, three, four Ev'rybody's talking about Adobe, ATI, Nvidia, Corel, Apple, MYOB This-ism, That-ism, is-m, is-m, is-m All we are saying is give Solaris x86 a chance, All we are saying is give Solaris x86 a chance Looking in retrospect; Adobe and Macromedia would have been nice things to purchase when SUN's share price was sky high - sure, it wouldn't have had any of the buzz words required by the bean counters, but it would have still been a nice cash cow. Just a prod in the SUN direction - how about SUN releasing a stripped down video card based on the Majc processor for PC's with PCI express buses, throw 128-256MB on the card, and sell it at a reasonable price - I would purchase one, and it'll be nice 'screw you' to ati and their lack of co-operation; and as a good bone to churck at the opensource community, make the video card drivers completely opensource and released under CDDL.
