Well as I did try to explain before, it seems that nobody at Debian did have
problems with the CDDL before autumn 2005.
In January, some people did start a campaign that claims that the CDDL is
non-free and that the "acceptance of the CDDL by Debian is undecided".
This is strange if you keep in mind that Debian did happily use e.g.
star-1.5a57 ... star-1.5a67 before.
The problem is that people from Debian do not explain in a comprehensible
way why they believe that there is a problem (see below)

It is hard to understand what Debian people don't like.
The main problem is that when asked to prove their claims with quotes from the
DFSG (or OSI rules), they either stop answering or answer that they do not
follow written down rules but rather "decide personally from case to case".
What I've seen so far against the CDDL is:
- "You are not allowed to put CDDL licensed code into the same TAR archive
as GPLd code"
Note that this applies in my case to the CDDL licensed build system
for GPLd code.
- "We don't like a license with a choice of venue clause"
So it seems that Debian likes to act in favor of bad users that
like to sue me, the author at any place of the world.
In any case, Debian fails to point to a part of the DFSG that the CDDL should
violate when being asked to verify their claims.
It is very hard to argue with people who spread claims like "We believe there
is something wrong with your software" but do not prove this claim when being
asked.
