Please have a look into the 'star' case on Debian to prove that Debian did
start a campaign against the CDDL to be beginning of this year.

They placed a "bug report" against the CDDL into the "cdrtools" _and_ "star"
Debian package to the end of January. There are less than 7 days between
both entries.
