There are things available in Open Solaris that are not yet in any
Solaris release (such as some of the Clearview components).  There may
even be things in Open Solaris that will _never_ be part of any
Solaris release (though it's clearly not worthwhile to name such
things).

That makes them different.

If it were valid to say that Sun's Solaris and Open Solaris are the
"same thing" because the former is based on the latter, then it'd be
equally valid to say that Nexenta is also the "same thing" because it
is, too, based on Open Solaris.
