As it has been mentioned elsewhere, it's very much a resource issue rather than
'direct threat' that you assert.

As others have mentioned, there's no correlation between OpenSolaris and Sun (or
at least, there shouldn't be), so +1 from me - I'd love to see a set of rocking
KDE packages available for people to download and install.

As a historical aside, with regard to web infrastructure, I really struggled to
figure out how best to plan the differences between 'Community' and 'Project'.
The JDS pages were originally hosted under 'Community' (the KDE ones still are).
 However, there is a limitation on the SCM infrastructure which meant that
anyone wanting to use an SCM solution *needed* to be a project. Consequently we
moved JDS over to being a Project. Since then, I've tried to focus on moving the
Desktop community pages to be a rough guide for how people get involved in the
various upstream community projects be they GNOME, KDE, Helix Player,
Firefox/Thunderbird, Looking Glass, or whatever. I'd appreciate that any such
proposal can follow these guidelines.
