What is the status of the Opensolaris Power PC port?
Is the project
still active? There were not any status reports or
updates in the last
months.

Cyril, PPC for Solaris community lead, can best answer
that question over in the PowerPC discussions group.
Last I checked, a few things were going on:

1. Updating of GCC toolkit (GCC 4.1.1,binutils 2.17)
2. Updating of ON build to a recent version (offline
b54+?).
3. Retirement of the Genesi Pegasos 1/2 hardware.
4. Movement to the the new Genesi EFIKA 5200B and
Pegasos 8641D hardware.
5. Support for PowerPC G4 to G5 (PPC750GX)
architectures.
6. MDB
7. Other

You know it takes awhile to review architectures like
this:

"The Freescale MPC8641D 2.0 Dual Core Power
Architecture™ processor features 2 e600 processor
cores, each with AltiVec™ vector processing units, 1MB
L2 cache, PCI Express peripheral links, DDR2 memory
controller and multiple Gigabit Ethernet ports."

as well as merge, compile, and test kernels for those
architectures.... ;o>
