Well, the fact that I get:

Segmentation fault (core dumped)


is pretty bad, I'd say.  (And a bug).

Unexpected output, OTOH, is not necessarily wrong.

tr [A-Z] [a-z]

only works in the C locale.

Which I don't think is true on Linux. I think it works on Linux, which
explains the porting trouble I've had.
