Anyway. What bothers me is not that there will apparently be an effort to make the transition from Linux easier, providing the features that a Linux user is used to, especially on the desktop. Nothing wrong with that. What does bother me is that articles like this, and their headlines, make it seem like we want to be "more like Linux", implying that we lack belief in our own strength.

OpenSolaris is a great OS, technically very advanced, and we have the community and engineers to do make it the best in the areas where it is not already. We should not talk in terms of being "more like Linux", but instead talk about "leveraging our strengths to provide a feature-rich user experience, surpassing even that of Linux" (hey, I should work in marketing! ok, maybe not).
