Hmm... the SUNW is part of the package name, it's also what the
pkg commands expect, so I agree with Peter that it should not
be stripped.

It's not specific to the packaging system.  Users with the
Software Installation profile can run pkgadd/pkgrm via pfexec,
no root access needed.
