Umm, I don't think so. dv9k also comes preconfigured with 2 disks (the one I was being offered 2x160), and I believe that the bios did support RAID 1 and 0 across those. However, the probability is low, since I think you'd also run into the issue during linux installaion, which apparantly you didn't. The HW is MCP51... which afaik, is very well supported and I have Solaris running in another (desktop) workstation with this chipset right now, though its 55b developer edition.
