Your numbers are wrong:

CD:     1992    650 MB
DVD:    1997    3.95 GB         6x in 5 Years   43% increase per year
BluRay: 2005    25 GB           8.5x in 8 years 31% increase per year
BluRay/DL: 2007 50 GB           2x in 2 years   41% increase per year

We will have 200 GB medua in ~ 4 years.

And BTW: we will reach the 8 TB limit in 15-20 years.

As you do not document your problem, we need to asume that there is no problem.

If you have a real problem, why don't you help to find the reason?
