A input here: On my celeron 256mb laptop, I had been running B54 SXCE
and manually installed sun studio for quite sometime. It used to work
beautifully even with the sunpro GUI. Ofcourse doing a full ON build
used to turn out to be expensive.
I used to install sunpro and other the build tools manually on top of
SXCE since "this feature" existed even then.

The installer should enforce absolute minimum requirements and not
recommended values.
SXDE and SXCE need not have 2 different installation requirements.

If you feel strongly about the higher number, then throw a warning at
the user regarding RAM being less. But please do not prevent the
installation on configuration where people know it to work.

Already there are people facing multiple installation problems,
preventing installation makes it unnecessarily painful. The solution
for the person to upgrade his RAM. If it is a linux or a windows user
wanting to try OpenSolaris distro, you have immediately created a
negative impression. Not only would one lose the person but worse
created in him/her a negative propagandist.

*256mb is also just fine*
Enforcing anything else is not a feature but a bug.

Have a warning limit for 768mb if necessary, enforce limit should be 256mb.

Shiv
